One of the best ways to learn how to use and thrive on Google+ is to circle some of the best, most active, most engaged Google+ users. That’s true on every social network. If you refine that list to include the Google+ users who are actively sharing and educating on Google+ itself, now you’ll have a truly rich source of information flowing into your Home stream each and every day.
So who should you circle?
I have started a list of the twenty or so people whom I look to every day for great, new ideas and news and information. I suggest you circle each of them. (If you aren’t sure how to set up your Circles, here’s a primer.) Right-mouse click on any name and open them in a new tab. Check out their About profile and choose whether or not to circle them. You can also Vote Up any individuals that you like the best.
But these aren’t the only great people to follow, are they? Of course not! I’m using a list.ly list specifically because I couldn’t possible remember or know everyone – and new people are stepping up and becoming experts at Google+ regularly. So, if you or someone you know should be on this list, add them! use the Add To List button and just paste in the URL to that person’s Google+ profile.
Nominations will be moderated, of course, but there are no specific guidelines or requirements. These should simply be people that are actively using and talking about Google+, and helping other people in one way or another.
I recommend that you create a Circle specifically for these people and begin adding them to it. I have also started a Circle and will post it on Google+ as a Shared Circle regularly, as more people are added.
