Better late than never! While most social networks updated their apps for iOS7 weeks ago, Pinterest released their updated version today. Not only does the new version bring a flat, more streamlined look to the app that’s in-line with iOS7 and other similar apps, but also a cool new way to browse pins!
Updated Look for Pinterest
The most significant change in terms of appearance within the new app is easily the navigation bar. Still found at the bottom of the screen, you’ll quickly see how the new bar and icons have adopted the flat look that’s popular now.
Additional changes can be found on your profile screen. Fonts seem larger and bolder, and the profile has been rearranged. And previously, the Add New Board button filled the first Board slot on your profile. This has now been relocated to the upper left of your profile screen, so take note if you’re in the habit of creating new boards from mobile.
The Notifications screen retains a similar format, but I noted that fonts were smaller and that the full notifications were displayed immediately, rather than just portions until tapped.
When viewing individual pins, you’ll find the Like, Share and Pin It buttons above the pin image now.
And when adding a new pin from mobile, you’ll see the updated Add Pin box as seen in the screenshot above.
New Way to Browse Pinterest Pins
With the update comes the ability to browse through pins by simply swiping left or right. It works regardless of where you’re looking at pins, be it in your stream, in a board, or in a search.
Check out the updated app and let me know what you think!
