In a company blog post by Aly Ibrahim, Software Engineer, Pinterest announced that businesses who are using Pinterest will soon be able to verify their company website. You can see a screen shot to the right of our Pinterest boards and how the verification looks.
To verify your website, visit your Settings page and click on the Verify Website button. Currently, Pinterest only supports top-level domains, such as thesocialmediahat.com. Additional site options will be added in the future.
Site verification adds a checkmark next to your site name, both on your profile and in searches that other users may perform. While the feature is in the process of being rolled out so it may not be available yet to all businesses and accounts, Pinterest users should regularly check whether or not the Verify button is available for them and use it as soon as it is.
Pinterest is one of the fastest growing social networks over the past 12 months. Businesses can use Pinterest to “pin” images linked to products or articles that consumers may be interested in. Any kind of brand verification on social networks can help instill trust and confidence in potential customers.
