Facebook’s foray into business communication is coming soon.

As reported by TechCrunch, the new service is set to launch Oct. 10 in London, where Facebook at Work was developed and beta tested.

What’s important to understand at this point is that Facebook at Work is not a “safe for work” version of Facebook. This is where the nomenclature has caused some confusion.

Rather, Facebook at Work is more akin to Skype or Slack – a tool that businesses can use to facilitate better communication and collaboration across teams.

What’s interesting is that Facebook at Work promises to deliver an exceptional communication platform based on Facebook’s already familiar login and user interface.

That means you and your staff will be able to instantly create accounts and login, and then communicate with each other very similar so how you might if you were using Facebook itself.

But it is quite separate.

We’ll be looking forward to the official launch and demonstration, and it will interesting to see if there will be any other creative integrations between Facebook and Facebook at Work, beyond the login.
